State Patrol Conducting Aerial Enforcement Throughout Area

(Fond du Lac) The Wisconsin State Patrol will begin aerial enforcement throughout the area Tuesday. There are five enforcement missions planed over Wisconsin highways in four counties starting with Highway 26 in Fond du Lac Count today, I-39/90 in Dane County Wednesday, I-94 in Eau Claire County Friday, I-39/90 in Rock County Saturday, and again over I-39/90 in Dane County on Sunday. The State Patrol’s primary mission is public safety, which includes enforcing traffic laws to help make sure drivers reach their destinations. Aerial speed enforcement is one way to enhance public safety efforts. State Patrol officials say from the air it’s much easier to spot drivers who are speeding or driving aggressively. They add that when a pilot observes a violation, they communicate with ground-based units to initiate a traffic stop.
