State, Local Wednesday COVID Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 1,177 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update. There are 16,966 active cases in the state, a decrease of 843 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 3.1-percent of the 545-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 522-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 14 deaths bringing that total to 5,951. Deaths account for 1.1-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.5-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. The CDC says of the two-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says 445-thousand people have died in the United States.

Dodge County has experienced 147 deaths and 11,185 cases, a one-day increase of 11 positive tests. The county had 75 negative tests returned for a running total of 38,749.

Washington County has seen 124 deaths along with 13,350 cases to date; 408 are active cases.

Fond du Lac County has 84 deaths, with 11,605 positive tests on record; 287 are active cases.

The state says Jefferson County has 71 deaths and 7,614 cases to date; with 154 active cases.

Columbia County reported two deaths bringing their total to 46 and 4,856 positive tests; there are 120 active cases.

Green Lake County has 17 deaths with 1,497 cases on record; 43 cases have been reported in the last two weeks.
