(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 950 positive coronavirus cases in Saturday’s daily update, which is 10.9-percent of the 7,750 tests announced. There are 7,977 active cases in the state, an increase of 59 from Friday. Active cases make up 11.4-percent of the 70-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 61-thousand recoveries.
State health officials recorded 13 deaths, bringing that total to 1,081. Deaths account for 1.5-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 7.9-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 174-thousand deaths while the worldwide toll is widely reported to be over 800-thousand people.
Dodge County has five deaths on record and has now topped one thousand cases with a running total of 1001, an increase of eight from Friday. The county had 76 negative tests returned for a running total of 18,135. As of Friday, public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 169 people while 578 have recovered.
Washington County has now experienced a 26th death while adding 38 new cases for a total of 1,441 cases since the pandemic began.
Another death in Fond du Lac County brings that number to nine deaths and 905 positive tests to date, a one day increase of 37 cases.
Jefferson County has reported six deaths and 812 cases to date. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 314 cases. Green Lake County logged a half dozen new cases for a total of 74.
