SSM Health Waupun Helps Food Pantry

(Waupun) The SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital Medical Staff has donated $5,000 to the Waupun Food Pantry. In every single county across the country, families are feeling the effects of food insecurity.

Families without reasonable food access are turning to local food banks. According to Feeding America, 49 million people in the United States relied on food banks and other programs to help put food on the table in 2022.

SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital President DeAnn Thurmer says she is proud of the staff and how engaged and supportive of the community they are of the community, and this donation is an example.

She adds that the hospital appreciates the role the food pantry plays in the community.

The donation was presented to Terri Respalje, Waupun Food Pantry manager, by Thurmer; Robert Nagle, DO, chief of staff; BreAnna Nagle, MD, past chief of staff; and Nicole Gill, SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital VP, clinical administrator.
