(Beaver Dam) Tuesday was Spring General Election Day in Wisconsin. There were several contested town and village board as well as city races this year.
In the town of Calamus, incumbent David Stange was the top vote-getter with 242 votes to Matthew Buchdaโs 130 for the town board supervisor one seat. For the supervisor two seat, incumbent Jake Rake had 276 votes to George Stegnerโs 117.
In the town of Emmet, Chairperson Steve Faltersack Jr. won his reelection bid over challenger Larry Schwefel. Emmet Town board Supervisor One incumbent Richard Walter was also reelected over Aaron Zuehlke.
In the town of Hubbard, incumbent Board Supervisor James Persha was the top vote-getter with 564 votes to Frederic Benishekโs 173. Meanwhile incumbent Supervisor David Feller received 461 votes to David Warczytowaโs 245.
In the town of Lebanon, incumbent Pam Conway fell to Tim May who was elected to the board supervisor one seat. For the town board supervisor two seat, Mike Stark got 533 votes to Kevin Maulsonโs 111.
There was a contested race for Lomira town chair. Incumbent Jeffrey Faber received 277 votes to Cody Buergerโs 196.
In the town of Shields, three people were running for two open seats on the town board. The top two vote-getters are Peter McFarland and Robb Borchardt. Steven Yohn finished third with 81 votes.
In the town of Theresa, incumbent Dale Dyer was unseated by Rick Steger. Incumbent Neil Burns also lost his reelection bid to Pete Buske.
In contested Dodge County village races, in Theresa six people ran for three open seats. The top three vote-getters are Patrick Bodden, Shawn Krapfl, and Robin Billings. James Polster Jr., Linda Herman, and David Fewless finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
In the city of Beaver Dam, all odd number districts were up for reelection on the common council and there were no contested races. The incumbents in each district were reelected: Nancy Wild in District One; Frank Ferree in District Three; Mick Fischer in District Five; Jack Yuds in District Seven; Monica Keel in District Nine; and Kevin Burnett in District 13. No candidate was listed on the ballot in District 11.ย The Beaver Dam city clerk will now conduct a municipal board of canvass and will then contact the leading write-in vote-getter.
There were two contested mayoral races in our listening area. In the city of Hartford, Dennis Regan was elected mayor over Joseph Fulop. In Watertown, Robert Stocks was the leading vote-getter over Steven Board for mayor.
Also in Watertown, there was a contested race for district five alderperson. Incumbent Brad Blanke was reelected over Eric Kluge.
