Special Election Set For Beaver Dam Mayor In November

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Mayoral Election is set for November 5th. Jack Yuds and Bobbie Marck are the two candidates that will appear on the 2024 ballot – both are members of the city’s common council. The common council had the option of either appointing someone to the vacant seat, left by former mayor Becky Glewen, who stepped down in February, or they could hold another election.

City Administrator Nathan Thiel said the council wanted the people of Beaver Dam to have a voice.ย

โ€œThey couldโ€™ve appointed someone, but the council ultimately felt it was important for the community to have a say in who would be the next mayor,โ€ Thiel said.

The winner will serve the remainder of Glewenโ€™s original term, set to be completed in April of 2026. If the eventual mayor wants to hold the position past the end of this term, they must run again.
