(Beaver Dam) The South-Central Wisconsin Career Expo is Wednesday, March 4, in Beaver Dam. The event brings together companies from across the region that are looking to hire for current job openings and internships โ and gives local students a chance to see what their future could look like close to home.
Hosted by 95.3 WBEV, powered by DailyDodge and 1430 ESPN, the expo runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beaver Dam High School Fieldhouse.
High school juniors and seniors who attend can gather information about possible job and internship opportunities while practicing professional communication skills by speaking directly with company representatives. Organizers say many students walk away each year with more than just a brochure โ some secure interviews, internships or job offers as a result of attending.
New this year, the expo will feature a panel discussion with Beaver Dam High School alumni who now work in a variety of industries and continue to contribute to the local community. The goal is to give students a firsthand look at different career paths from people who once sat in the same classrooms.
The exhibitor space has also been expanded to allow businesses to offer more hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities. Students will receive โBingoโ cards designed to encourage conversations at exhibitor booths, with prizes awarded to boost participation.
Employers scheduled to attend include Beaver Dam Unified School District, Walmart Distribution Center, Signicast, Daniels Construction, Summit Automotive Ford, Mayville Engineering Company Inc., Alsum Farms & Produce, EK Machine, Lyco Manufacturing, Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen, Clearview, Fromm Family Pet Food, Neuman Pools, Watco, Metalcraft of Mayville, WDS Construction, Mortenson Data Centers, Prairie Ridge Health, National Exchange Bank, Kraft Heinz and Centro Inc.
