(Beaver Dam) The 34th Annual “Something Special From Wisconsin Breakfast” is being held Sunday at the Beaver Dam High School. Russ Kottke with the Beaver Dam Agri-Business Association says he’s got his big frying skillet ready and raring to go.
“We’ve got a four foot frying pan that we do the scrambled eggs in,” Kottke says, “and we have our own grill system that Beaver Dam Agri-Business built that we do our own pancakes in.”
The money raised from Sunday’s breakfast is dedicated to the Beaver Dam FFA Scholarship Fund.
“Beaver Dam Agri-Business gives scholarships to graduating seniors looking to pursue a career in agriculture,” says FFA Advisor Jonathon Ganske, “they’ve been so supportive throughout the years in fact, because of the breakfast I was able to get a scholarship from them many years ago to go to college.”
The Something Special From Wisconsin Breakfast is not the only community happening at the Beaver Dam High School Sunday. From 12pm through 3pm, the community is invited to a bingo and trivia event in the fieldhouse. The student organization Sources of Strength is organizing the family-friendly opportunity. The focus of SOS is suicide prevention and family support.
The Sources of Strength Community Day features not only bingo and trivia but also snacks and prizes. Entry is $3 but for every non-perishable food item you bring, you get $1 off so three canned goods will get you free entry. All the items collected will be given to Dodge County’s domestic violence shelter PAVE.
