(WAUKESHA) A judge has approved the latest release plan for Morgan Geyser, one of the co-defendants in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing case.
620 WTMJ reports Waukesha County Judge Scott Wagner signed off on a plan on Sept. 17 for Geyser to leave Winnebago Mental Health Institute and transition to a community facility.
Geyser was initially granted conditional release in January but encountered a series of postponed hearings, petitions from the state and rejected placement plans since then. That included her most recent placement plan for a facility in Sun Prairie, which became public and was subsequently scraped due to protests from the community.
Court records say the plan signed on Wednesday is confidential. It’s unclear if Geyser has been released yet. She will have GPS monitoring and medication monitoring during her release.
Now 22 years old, Geyser and Anissa Weier were found not guilty by reason of mental defect in 2014 for attempting to stab their classmate Payton Leutner to death to appease the fictional character Slender Man.
