(JUNEAU) If you see someone drive past a school bus with its stop lights flashing – there’s an app for that. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office just added a feature on its smartphone app for lodging school bus complaints.
“Just give us a general overview of what happened. Get the date, time, location. If you can get a license plate number, that’s really important. And we will get it to the appropriate authorities,” said Sheriff Dale Schmidt.
The app feature is designed for school bus drivers to use, but Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the public can also use it.
In Wisconsin, the fine for passing a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing has a new range of $500 to $1,000. In addition to the fine, a violation will result in four demerit points on your driver’s license.
