Shaler Drive Extension Set to Begin in Waupun

(WAUPUN) A grant from the Dodge County Community Development Grant program will pay for about half the cost of extending Shaler Drive in Waupun. Construction will start later this year. When itโ€™s finished, Shaler Drive will connect the Junior/Senior High School to the intersection of Watertown Street.

โ€œIf you live in that Robin Road-Clagget Street area, itโ€™s going to make it much quicker and easier to access Main Street,โ€ May Rohn Bishop told Daily Dodge. โ€œItโ€™s going to be a really good thing for Waupun, and it shows progress.โ€

The project is estimated to cost about $1,789,090. The grant will cover half of projected expenses. Theย city willย pay for the restย with revenues fromย Tax Incremental District 9.ย

Bishop says the new and improved Shaler Drive will also serve a new housing project and new businesses in Waupun.ย
