(Markesan) State Senator Joan Ballweg had 27 bills signed into law this past year. One of the bills she co-authored with State Representative Alex Dallman taps into funding allocated to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to assist entities in communities across the state trying to attract large-scale public events.
She says a good example of the impacts of those types of events is the attention Wisconsin received by being featured on the current season of Top Chef. She says hosting events like the NFL Draft and Ryder Cup generates a huge economic impact.
The state lawmaker from Markesan says Milwaukee is hoping to host an NBA All-Star game and there is interest in bringing WWF events to the state as well.
