Search Continues For Two Missing From Canoe On Lake Winnebago

(Fond du Lac County) The search continues for two Fond du Lac men who were reported missing from a canoe on Lake Winnebago Monday night. Authorities have identified the individuals as Dakota Goldapske and Michael Gohde, both 21-years-old. Extensive recovery efforts on the lake continued yesterday with the sheriff’s office utilizing watercraft equipped with side-scan and down-scan sonar imaging, aircraft and a large drone. The search area was largely focused on the southwest corner of the lake, where GPS coordinates placed the 911 call made by the two men the night they went missing. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt yesterday’s strong winds slowed the search process. He says recovery efforts will continue in the coming days.
