(Beaver Dam) A major road construction project in Beaver Dam is set to begin Thursday. Madison Street from Curie to Chatham will include complete reconstruction of the pavement structure, curb and gutter, driveway aprons, sidewalk, and sanitary sewer.
Access to the project area will be limited during construction hours, typically from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday, but will be maintained to the greatest extent possible during off hours.
Those who live in the area may experience discoloration of their water due to disconnecting and tying in new water laterals. DPW officials say the discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt, air, or calcium carbonate and does not pose any risks.
Water utility staff will be flushing these areas regularly if issues arise. Property owners should expect periodic, short-term water service shutoffs. Notice will be given 24 hours in advance.
Parking will also be impacted during the project.
