Regulators Order Alliant Energy to Share More Details on Beaver Dam Data Center

(MADISON) More details may be on the horizon about a massive data center that could reshape Beaver Dam’s power grid. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Wisconsin Public Service Commission has ordered Alliant Energy to disclose more details about Meta’s $1 billion data center project.

The 700,000-square-foot facility is expected to use up to 220 megawatts of electricity when it opens in 2027. The order follows public concern over how the project could affect local energy infrastructure and electric bills. Regulators say they want greater transparency before moving forward.
