Regional Jobless Claims See Slight Uptick In June

(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims saw a slight uptick in the sixth month of the year.

The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.8-percent in June, just a two-tenth of a percent increase from the month prior. Last year, the number was 3.1-percent. Dodge County fell three spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to 10th.

Columbia County jobless numbers went from 2.6-percent in May to 2.9-percent in June. In 2023, the figure was 3.1-percent.

Jefferson Countyโ€™s unemployment rate saw a three-tenths of a percent increase from May to June, going to 3.1-percent. A year ago, the number was 3.2-percent.

Fond du Lac County is also reporting a three-tenths of a percentage point increase from Mayโ€™s 2.7-percent to Juneโ€™s three-percent. Last year, it was 3.3-percent.

Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 2.9-percent in June.ย
