(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in the region are down slightly. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, car and light truck sales in Dodge County are down 3.9-percent so far this year when compared to the first four months of 2017. Truck sales are up 2.8-percent with 954 sold, 26 more than last year, but car sales are down 30-percent with 166 sales, 71 less than last year. In Columbia County, sales were up 4.5-percent with 703 truck sales – an increase of 7.3-percent from 2017 – while car sales decreased 6.8-percent to 151. In Jefferson County, 857 vehicles rolled off dealer lots between January and April, up 4.5-percent. That includes 675 trucks, up 13-percent, and 182 cars, down 19-percent. For the nine-county south-central Wisconsin region, vehicle sales this year so far are down 1.9-percent with 6-percent more truck sales this year and 21-percent fewer car sales.
