(Reeseville) A Reeseville man charged in connection to a stabbing incident in Reeseville is heading to trial. Probable cause was found this week during Jose Damian Pinedaโs preliminary hearing to head to trial on multiple felonies including Attempted First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Substantial Battery, Armed Burglary, and a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Damage to Property.
Sheriffโs deputies were called to 404 Lincoln Avenue just before 8pm on August 6th. Damian Pineda was reportedly located wielding a knife and was taken into custody. Authorities quickly learned that there was a victim who suffered three serious, but non-life-threatening, stab wounds to the head and neck area.
Damian Pineda told authorities he was drunk and angry, and allegedly admitted to drinking an alcoholic beverage before the attack. When Damian Pineda was asked by investigators if his intent was to kill the victim, he reportedly said (quote) โIโm not sure if it was, Iโm now sure if it wasnโt.โ According to the complaint, Damian Pineda continued to say, โIโm not sure what went through my head when I did it, I just did it.โ
If convicted, the 21-year-old faces just under 25 years in prison. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for September 21st.
