Red Kettle Concert Is Sunday

(Beaver Dam) The 14th annual Red Kettle Concert to benefit the Salvation Army will be taking place this coming weekend. The performance will feature local church and community choirs, musicians, and special guests. Organizer Joanne Tyjeski says the concert started because she thought her handbell group was a natural fit for the Salvation Army.

โ€œWe took, like, all eight tables all of our ringers and we realized this does not work,โ€ says Tyjeski. โ€œWeโ€™re like, too big.โ€

Tyjeski says that for anyone that has not seen a handbell choir before, it is composed of 11 bellringers with each being responsible for a few notes in a song. The concert will open and close with an ecumenical choir.

The 14th annual Red Kettle Concert will be taking place this Sunday, December 3rd. Doors open at 3:30pm and the concert starts at 4pm in the Beaver Dam High School Auditorium. Admission is free, but the Beaver Dam Kiwanis Club will be present to accept donations following the performance.ย ย
