(BEAVER DAM) A write-in candidate has emerged to challenge Beaver Dam Mayor Bobbi Marck in the April election.
The city clerk’s office confirmed that 74-year-old Al Polchinski has filed the required paperwork to qualify as a write-in candidate. Polchinski is a retired welder. The lifelong Beaver Dam resident told Daily Dodge he’s running because he’s concerned about wasteful government spending and debt. The Meta AI data center is not a plank in his platform, but he said that he is against non-disclosure agreements.
Marck has been mayor since winning a special election in November 2024. Marck was the only candidate to collect enough signatures by the filing deadline to appear on the ballot.
