Beaver Dam High School Girls Hockey Coach Mike Pogorelec has been named the 2024-25 Girls Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association High School Girls Coach of the Year.  During his 2nd season on the bench, Pogorelec led the Beaver Dam girls hockey team to an impressive 19-7 finish this season including a 12-0 Badger Conference championship.  After starting out 1-4, Beaver Dam ripped off 18 wins in their next 20 games before falling to Cap City 4-3 in the Sectional Final last Friday night in Janesville.
Pogorelec was given the award as the Girls State Tournament and All-State Banquet on Wednesday night in Madison.
