(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam City Council recently approved a pilot program created by the city’s Downtown Redevelopment Committee. The program will be utilizing $180,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to enhance residential facades.
The purpose is to encourage the upkeep and appearance of owner-occupied residential homes and multifamily buildings as well as mitigate the presence of highlighted properties within the residential district. City Administrator Nathan Thiel says that properties along Madison Street are eligible.
“It could also be a corner parcel,” Thiel says. “So, maybe the address is on a street is on a street that crosses Madison St. Any property owner within the city can put forward an application. They should talk with building inspections and kind of show what they’re wanting to do.”
Thiel says the Downtown Redevelopment Committee will review the applications.
