Our Field, Our Future Turf Project Receives Significant Donation

The Beaver Dam Flattail Club, along with the “Our Field, Our Future” turf project at H.H. Derleth Field, received a significant contribution earlier this week from Ripon Athletic and the Henry H. Derleth family.

The campaign is raising funds to install a state-of-the-art synthetic playing surface at Beaver Dam High School. One of the primary drivers behind the project is field availability. Currently, H.H. Derleth Field is shared by the football and track and field teams, with weather conditions playing a major role in field quality and usability.

Organizers say existing challenges with the current facility include outdated track runways, drainage issues, and field crowning, all of which limit the number of teams that can safely use the facility.

If the synthetic turf is installed, the field would support a wide range of activities, including football, boys and girls soccer, band, physical education classes, baseball, softball, and track and field.

Donors to the “Our Field, Our Future” campaign will be recognized with their names displayed around the stadium, similar to the donor recognition at the Beaver Dam baseball concourse.

For more information, you can email bdflattailinc@gmail.com. The project is also on Facebook under “Our Field, Our Future – Beaver Dam Turf Project.” Donations can be made via Venmo (linked on the Facebook page) or mailed to 516 York Street, Beaver Dam, WI 53916
