LOMIRA – The National Weather Service has confirmed two EF-0 tornadoes from Wednesday afternoon’s severe weather, including one in Dodge County.According to a National Weather Service storm survey issued Friday evening, a tornado touched down in Lomira around 3:01 p.m. Wednesday. The Weather Service says several homes and mobile homes sustained roof damage, numerous trees were damaged, and a few trees were uprooted. The tornado’s path was estimated at 75 yards wide and three-quarters of a mile long.
A second EF-0 tornado was confirmed southeast of Eden in Fond du Lac County around 3:10 p.m. The Weather Service says several trees were damaged, a few were uprooted, numerous limbs were downed, and a barn sustained damage. Roofing material from the barn was deposited downwind about 100 yards. That tornado’s path was estimated at 75 yards wide and one mile long. The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning for eastern Fond du Lac County at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday. At the time, forecasters said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Campbellsport, moving northeast at 60 miles per hour.
The Weather Service’s Hazardous Weather Outlook issued Friday morning said no hazardous weather was expected Friday, but there was a chance for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening, with a few storms possibly becoming severe with damaging winds and large hail.
