North Fond du Lac Man Dies in Tuesday Crash

(FOND DU LAC) A 79-year-old man from North Fond du Lac is dead after a crash Tuesday morning.

On April 28 at approximately 9:23 a.m., the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of W. Scott Street and northbound US Highway 41.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriffโ€™s Office also responded and located the involved vehicle in the highway median north of Scott Street. The driver, a 79-year-old man from North Fond du Lac, was found inside the vehicle. He was removed and provided medical care by Fond du Lac Fire Rescue before being transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary information indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Scott Street when it proceeded through the four-way stop at N. Pioneer Road. The vehicle then left the roadway to the north, traveled down a hill toward US Highway 41, and became airborne over the northbound lanes before coming to rest in the median.

Based on the initial investigation, it is believed the driver may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.

A second vehicle sustained minor damage; however, no occupants were injured.
