RANDOLPH – No injuries were reported after a residential structure fire on County Highway P in the Randolph area.
According to the Randolph Fire Department, crews were dispatched at about 9:12AM after a passerby reported seeing smoke and flames coming through the roof of a home.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the house. The department says crews began fire suppression from outside the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The department says no one was home at the time.
Several nearby agencies assisted, including Fox Lake Fire, Fox Lake EMS, Friesland first responders, Cambria, Friesland, Portage, Brandon-Fairwater, Dalton, Markesan, Horicon, Beaver Dam, Waupun and Columbus fire departments. The department also thanked the sheriff’s office for traffic control and Alliant Energy for its response.
The Randolph Fire Department also thanked the passerby who reported the fire and drove up the driveway to try to contact the homeowner.
