(Fond du Lac) No charges will be filed against a Fond du Lac County deputy in a fatal shooting last October. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney made that announcement this week.
Toney said Deputy Blaine Evans acted in self-defense in an exchange of gunfire which killed Kyle Massie. Evans’ K-9 partner, Iro, was also wounded. Deputies had responded to a woman’s report of being held against her will and sexually assaulted by Massie.
The 33-year-old Massie fled the scene and crashed his vehicle into a garage before being confronted by Evans, who repeatedly ordered him to drop his gun. The Wisconsin Department of Justice has also released dashcam video of the shooting.
