(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 1,408 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 11.5-percent of the 10,700 tests announced. There are 10,839 active cases in the state, an increase of 330 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 11.7-percent of the 92-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 80-thousand recoveries.
State health officials recorded eight deaths Wednesday, for a total of 1,228. Deaths account for 1.3-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while seven-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 195-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 937-thousand people.
Dodge County reported a ninth death from COVID on Wednesday and 18 more positive tests, bringing that total to 1,477 cases. The county had 204 negative tests returned for a running total of 20,973. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 237 people while 873 have recovered.
Washington County has experienced 32 deaths to date along 2,051 cases, a one-day increase of 35. Fond du Lac County has reported 12 deaths with 1,521 positive tests on record. Jefferson County has reported seven deaths and 1,113 cases to date. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 455 cases. Green Lake County now has 150 cases.
