(Beaver Dam) ATV and UTV operators in Beaver Dam will be held to the same standards, expectations, and penalties as those who operate motor vehicles including drunk driving. Police Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson says no matter what someone is driving, they cannot be driving drunk in Beaver Dam or anywhere in the state of Wisconsin. The common council recently approved an ordinance permitting the use of ATVโ€™s and UTVโ€™s on city streets. Residents will not be able to drive those vehicles until signage has been put up. City leaders say they will be communicating with the public when that will happen.

(Beaver Dam) The Aging and Disability and Resource Center of Dodge County open enrollment for Medicare is around the corner. Elderly and Disability Benefits Specialist Jennie Farmer says the ADRC postcards that are sent out will have a fall background and signed by the staff on the back, instead of the green cards that say Dodge County on them. She adds that it is important for those who are satisfied with their current Medicare plan to look at other options because they change constantly.

(Beaver Dam) 95.3 WBEVโ€™s Justin โ€œthe Ninjaโ€ Wylesky joined veterans from across the country on a journey to Washington DC as part of the Badger Honor Flight on Saturday. Wylesky caught up with Vietnam Army Veteran Gerald Pahl. Pahl says he had only been to the nationโ€™s capital once prior to the flight on a single engine job at Dodge County Airport. He adds that he got his post military mail carrying job by helping a neighbor whose wife happened to be the mail carrier.

(Hartford) Improvement work that will impact Highway 83 traffic in Washington County will begin tomorrow (Tuesday). The governor recently signed a $3.6-million-dollar contract for a multi-year improvement project along 83, from Highway 167 to Monroe Avenue in the city of Hartford. The scope of the project includes asphalt milling and resurfacing, box culvert construction, retaining wall and guardrail replacement, and curb ramp improvements. (Beaver Dam) The Beaver dam Area Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications from Dodge County-based nonprofits. Eligible non-profit organizations are invited to submit grant applications for up to $2,500. Those interested will apply through a new online grant portal. Officials with the Foundation say previous versions of grant applications will no longer be accepted. A link to the guide will be available at DailyDodge.com. The applications deadline is October 6th.
