(Alto) A Markesan teen was killed in a single vehicle crash in the township of Alto early Sunday morning. Fond du Lac County authorities say a vehicle heading west on Lake Maria Road left the pavement just before 2am, entered the north shoulder, then struck a guardrail. The 17-year-old male driver and lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement say that speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

(Waupun) A Waupun man was arrested over the weekend for being under the influence while behind the wheel during a single vehicle crash. Fond du Lac County authorities say the 27-year-old driver was apparently drunk when he failed to negotiate a curve north of Whooley Road in the township of Waupun around 6pm Saturday. The vehicle entered a ditch and overturned. A 31-year-old Waupun woman was seriously injured in the crash which remains under investigation. The driver is facing charges of Causing Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle.

(Watertown) An attached garage in Watertown that caught fire Friday afternoon caused roughly $180-thouand-dollars in damage. The Watertown Fire Department says two attack hose lines extinguished most of the blaze at 300 Lauren Lane, allowing firefighters to go inside the structure and put out any remaining flames. No injuries were reported, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

(Dodge County) Jobless claims in the region saw little to no movement in the month of September. The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.8-percent in the ninth month of 2022 which is the same figure the county saw in July. Last year, the number was 2.4-percent. Dodge County improved one spot in the statewide unemployment ranking to 14th.

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in Dodge County are lagging behind last yearโ€™s numbers. According to the Waterloo-based, industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, there were 2,206 vehicles sold in Dodge County through September, 651 less than by the same time one year ago, a decrease of 22.7-percent. Truck sales were down over 21-percent while car sales were down 35-percent.

(Columbia County) A wholesale dealer in Columbia County had their license revoked for unlicensed retail sales and odometer fraud. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the license for New Status Autos, located at 101 Skyline Drive in Arlington, was revoked effective in August. Officials say the business illegally sold motor vehicles to retail customers, rolled back odometers on vehicles, and falsified title documents.
