(Green Lake) The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the missing Watertown man who staged his own death. Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll reports the Sheriff’s Office has been in near daily contact with Ryan Borgwardt since November 11th and that he is not in danger. The Sheriff’s Office also provided information as to how Borgwardt managed to flee the country. No warrants have been issued and are not needed, should Borgwardt decide to return home. The case remains under investigation. 

(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding hunters to make safety their number one target this season, November 23rd through December 1st. Hunters can do their part to reduce hunting incidents by following the four basic rules of firearm safety, or TAB-K. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction. Be certain of your target, what’s before it and what’s beyond it. Keep your finger outside your trigger and guard until you are ready to shoot. Any hats or hoodies worn must also be at least 50% blaze orange or fluorescent pink. (Dodge County) If you shoot that 30-point buck this gun deer season be aware of your surroundings when you track it.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says they take plenty of calls of every hunting season about people moving around on private property. Schmidt adds that there are apps that tell you where property lines are and who owns the land.  He says you need to ask the landowner if it’s OK to track a deer on private property or you could end up with a citation if you trespass. 

(Wisconsin) Governor Tony Evers, together with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), recently announced that the Wisconsin’s Registered Apprenticeship Program has reached a record 17,089 enrolled apprentices, an all-time record. This marks the third consecutive year that the Registered Apprenticeship Program has reached an all-time record in the program’s 112-year history. (Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) is reminding professional license holders of an older scam that is resurfacing. Wisconsin’s safety agency was contacted by several license holders this week saying they got a call from a man who claimed to be a DSPS investigator. The scammer claims there is a problem with the target’s license due to being a suspect in illegal activity. Report suspicious calls, texts, or emails that mention DSPS or any regulating or credentialing board. More information can be found with this story at DailyDodge.com. 

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Department of Public Works is reminding residents that Monday, November 25th, is the final round of leaf and garden debris pickup for this season. Residents may also continue to dispose of yard waste, year-round, by taking it to the city drop-off site, located at 205 W South Street, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. The bulk truck with continue the first Wednesday and third Saturday of each month, located at 640 S Center St.
