(Wisconsin) Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Wednesday that $1 million in grants is available for the Teach Training and Recruitment Grant program. The program aims to train and recruit teachers where shortages are most prevalent in Wisconsin. The grants are available through the DWD’s Expanded Wisconsin Fast Forward program. Wisconsin nonprofit organizations can apply for up to $500,000 to recruit, train, and license teachers to meet the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s guidelines for serving qualifying school districts. Grant applications are due on Monday, December 16th.  

(Juneau) The Dodge County Hazmat team will be coming to the Beaver Dam area to do some decontamination training next year. Dodge County Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Matt Bartol says the plan is to involve the Beaver Dam Fire Department and invite surrounding fire departments to participate. He adds that he wants to get the community involved and hopes to include the Beaver Dam Citizen’s Police Academy or the Beaver Dam Fire Department Cadets.    

(Juneau) Dodge County’s snowmobile season is right around the corner. The season typically runs from December 1st to the end of March. The county has 431.8 miles of snowmobile trails and Dodge County Parks Superintendent Jason Roy says more information about the county’s trail system is available online. He says many local gas stations have a map of the snowmobile system. More information is at DailyDodge.com. 

(Watertown) Watertown Regional Medical Center’s joint replacement program was recently recognized nationwide, earning the 2025 Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades. This award recognizes superior clinical outcomes based on Medicare data. Watertown Regional Medical Center recently expanded its orthopedic services, allowing board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians to perform procedures on the hand, elbow, foot, ankle, and spine, in addition to joint replacement and sports medicine. (Columbus) Columbus High School’s Production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premieres Friday. The show starts at 7pm at the Columbus High School Gymnasium. The performance continues Saturday at 7pm and Sunday, November 17th at 1pm for the matinee.
