(Lomira) The Lomira School District received an automated voicemail from an unknown phone number stating that there would be a threat to the school on Friday morning. The Dodge County Sheriffโ€™s Office says the message was relatively vague and never gave specific details, such as naming the Lomira School District. The voicemail then went on to talk about a Utah judge who gave a light sentence to someone who committed crimes against children. More information is available with this story at DailyDodge.com.

(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and the State Patrol are increasing seatbelt education and tightening enforcement efforts to keep drivers safe. The campaign runs from May 20 through June 2. State law requires all drivers and passengers to wear their seat belts when traveling in Wisconsin. More information at available HERE. (Beaver Dam) Governor Evers is doing a statewide tour thatโ€™s highlighting the National Travel and Tourism Week and Wisconsinโ€™s tourism jobs and economy. The governor and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) today put in a request for the release of $10 million in approved funding. Evers also put a proposal up for creating and funding a $30 million opportunity and attraction fund with the 2025 NFL Draft on the horizon. This would be included in his 2023-25 biennial budget. (Columbus) The Columbus City Council approved the 2024 street maintenance program at a recent regular council meeting. This is an annual plan that is budgeted in the general fund budget and has traditionally been a combination of patching, slurry seal, crack sealing, and overlay.ย  Work for this year includes overlays on Chapel Street, Thayer Street, and John Street and work on the Columbus Fire Department parking lot. Both Chapel Street and Thayer Street would cost $19,813 dollars each for a total cost of $39,626 dollars. John Street will cost and was priced out by the county. The maintenance work on the parking lot will cost $8,800 dollars.ย  ย 


(Mayville) The city of Mayville is looking for applicants to fill out the remainder of the term for Aldermanic Ward 2.ย  The seat has been open since Joe Tillman resigned earlier this year.ย  Those interested in serving are asked to submit a letter of interest to the City Clerkโ€™s Office by Friday, June 7th. Candidates will be interviewed at the June 10th Personnel of the Whole Meeting.ย  The appointed candidate will serve out the term until the 2026 April election. ย
