(Beaver Dam) The official city of Beaver Dam logo will be altered when the downtown water tower is painted. The logo features two orange half circles representing a sun on the top while the bottom of the logo has three blue waves representing water and in the center: the silhouette of a kayaker holding a paddle. The altered logo replaces the kayaker with a boat and a fisherman reeling in a big catch. When the water tower is painted, each variation of the logo will be featured, one on each side of the basin. The tower will also include the tagline: โ€œBeaver Dam, Life Here Is Good.โ€

(Beaver Dam) The ribbon was cut Thursday on a renovated Beaver Dam hotel. Comfort Inn and Suites is located at 815 Park Avenue. The hotelโ€™s general manager and owner, David Patel, says when their ownership group took over operations of the building it took roughly 10 months to complete full renovations. He says they installed new walls, new furniture, re-painted, and reworked the pool area. The hotel had previously operated under the title Quality Inn and Suites with different ownership.

(Waupun) Reports of endangered children led to a search warrant being executed at a Waupun residence Wednesday and the arrest of a wanted Pardeeville man. Waupun police, along with the Lake Winnebago MEG-Drug Unit, searched the home in the 200 block of Fond du Lac street after Child Protective Services noted the living conditions were not suitable for children and possible illegal drug activity. A 45-year-old Pardeeville man with numerous warrants through Columbia County was arrested. Three Waupun residents are also facing drug charges. The children were removed from the home while CPS works on placement.

(Clyman) A garage was destroyed by fire Wednesday night in rural Dodge County. Crews from Clyman-Lowell-Reeseville Fire and Rescue were paged to W7440 Highway 16-60 at 11:46pm Wednesday after a passerby saw the blaze and called Dodge County dispatch. The first units arriving on scene encountered heavy flames and the structure collapsed. There were no injuries and all the animals inside the structure made it out safely. The nearby house sustained minor damage.

(Madison) Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has said negotiations on a state shared revenue bill are done. But state Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu wants them to continue. He says the Senate will produce its own version of the bill, minus a requirement for Milwaukee city and county voters to approve sales tax increases. The Oostburg Republican called Vosโ€™ decision to end negotiations โ€œunfortunate.โ€ A spokesperson for Governor Tony Evers said he agrees with LeMahieu. โ€“ WRN

(Beaver Dam) Wayland Academy is holding its commencement ceremony this weekend. The coed college preparatory school in Beaver Dam is honoring 42 students from 12 different countries. Head of School Jason Warnick will preside over the ceremony. There are events taking place on campus beginning Friday, May 19th leading up to graduation that will honor the senior class. School officials say if you hear the Victory Bell ringing feel free to cheer or honk your horn to join in the celebration. The commencement ceremony will be held on the Wayland campus in Lindsay Auditorium Sunday, May 21st beginning at 11am.
