News – May 18, 2024

(Juneau) Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says that tragedy was avoided earlier this week when one of his deputies was able to stop a wrong way driver on Highway 151.  He says last year, three wrong-way driving accidents resulted in six fatalities in the region.  He would like to see arrows painted on the on-ramps to 151 so drivers know what direction they should be driving.   

(Beaver Dam) Marshfield Medical Center Beaver Dam is hosting a safety first event today at the main campus in Beaver Dam.  From 10am to 2pm you can stop out and visit with over 30 area organizations, including police, fire and EMS.  The event runs from 10am to 2pm.  WBEV will have a brat from 11am to 1pm with proceeds benefiting the family of Shannon Neu (NYE) who passed away in a motorcycle accident last Saturday.  She was a nurse at MMC-BD. 

(Beaver Dam) Voting is open for the election of two new members on the five-member Wisconsin Cherry Board. Cherry growers across the state of Wisconsin have until June 15 to send their votes in. Cherry producers should have received their ballots the week of May 10. If anyone doesn’t have a ballot by May 20, they should contact the DATCP’s Market Orders Program at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov. More information is available with this story at DailyDodge.com. 

(Beaver Dam) Card holders at the Beaver Dam Community Library can now check out a pass for a free one-day admission with one vehicle at any Wisconsin State Park, forest, or recreation area. Passes will be available first come, first serve at the library while supplies last. To check out a pass, you must know the date of your visit within a three-day window.
