(Shields) Cash bond has been set at $500,000 for a rural Watertown man facing Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide charges. Joshua Daniel is alleged to have inflicted multiple laceration wounds to the 36-year-old victim last Friday at a residence in the town of Sheilds. The woman is in stable condition and is recovering. The Dodge County Sheriffโs Office SWAT team was able to take the 38-year-old Daniel into custody. He will be back in court on July 5th for a preliminary hearing.ย
(Waupun) Dumpsters are now available in Waupun to help residents dispose of items damaged by flooding. The dumpsters are located at the cityโs public works garage at 903 North Madison Street along the north side of the facility between the red training tower and the garage. They can be accessed between 6am and 7pm daily. City leaders say the dumpsters will be available through the week and then they will assess if it needs to be extended. They add that residents cannot drop off hazardous materials such as solvents or paints as well as appliances.ย
(Columbia County) Columbia County is preparing for additional flooding this week. The Wisconsin and Crawfish Rivers are rising and are expected to crest mid-week. Officials with the countyโs Emergency Management Department say they are taking steps to mitigate potential damage to buildings, roads, and other facilities to ensure safety for residents. Sand and bags to fill are available to all Columbia County citizens at the main Columbia County Highway Department Shop at 338 West Old Highway 16 in Wyocena.

(Beaver Dam) United Way of Dodge County has named a new interim director. Earlier this month Josh Kilgas, who has a little over 10 years of experience within the United Way network, stepped into the role. Kilgas says he spent most of that time at United Way of Fox Cities in various positions including community development and resource development. Kilgas says his time within the United Way network led him to this opportunity and to help the Dodge County organization set the foundation for a permanent director.
(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman is the new Miss Wisconsin. Mandi Genord was crowned in Oshkosh Saturday night. Genord also won preliminary talent and evening wear award honors, and was named the overall evening wear winner and tied for the overall interview score. The 22-year-old, who recently graduated from the University of Alabama, also served as Miss Wisconsinโs Teen in 2018.
