(Beaver Dam) The Good Karma Brands John Moser Children’s Radiothon wrapped up Friday morning after raising well into six figures for 16 non-profits in the Dodge County area that work with kids. Good Karma Brands CEO Craig Karmazin says the amount raised following the 27-hour marathon broadcast is $133,711.60. More money is still coming in and that figure could go over $140-thousand. The total since the Radiothon began in 1998 is $2,796,663.

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Library recently received a $1,500 dollar donation from Library Board Trustee Kevin Luebke. His donation was double matched by his employer through Hiscox Foundation USA, providing the Library’s Next Chapter campaign with a grand total of $4,500 dollars. Luebke says he is excited to use his company’s charitable double match donation to make an impact and hopes others will consider that option. The Next Chapter campaign includes naming rights and recognitions, but all donations are welcome.
(Waupun) A Waupun Memorial Hospital nurse was the recent recipient of the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes nurses who have devoted their life’s work to the compassionate care of others. Kim Graff was nominated by her fellow teammates. They wrote that Graff has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to patient advocacy throughout the years. They say her efforts to ensure the highest quality of care for patients has not only positively impacted individual lives but also the friends and family members of her patients.
(Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has launched an online, searchable database of substance abuse prevention policies for all contractors and subcontractors who perform public works projects. Wisconsin employees must have a written policy in place for the prevention of substance abuse among employees before working on a public works or public utility project.
