(Waupun) The chief of police in Waupun is praising the collaborative work of law enforcement for safely resolving a high-risk incident in the city. Tuesday evening Waupun authorities were notified by Baraboo police that a potential armed suspect was in the city. Chief Jeremy Rasch says the suspect vehicle was located and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted with assistance from Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies. The driver was identified as the wanted suspect and two firearms were recovered from the vehicle. Rasch notes that no officers or citizens were harmed during this incident.
(Shields) A Watertown man facing Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide charges entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment hearing. Joshua Daniel is alleged to have inflicted multiple laceration wounds to the 36-year-old victim at a residence in the town of Sheilds on a Friday in late June. Dodge County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was able to take the 38-year-old Daniel into custody the following morning.
(Beaver Dam) In light of a recent Kwik Trip gift card scam, the Beaver Dam Police Department is warning residents about the dangers of purchasing from someone they do not know. The scam involved a woman selling the cards under the guise of a youth baseball fundraiser. Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson says educating the public on this issue is key to preventing more people from becoming victims. Johnson says even though it can be embarrassing to report that you have been a victim of a scam, he encourages the public to call the agency’s non-emergency number if you have been victimized.
(Juneau) A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office employee is celebrating a major career milestone. Court Security Officer Steve Allermann just had his 50th anniversary with the sheriff’s office. Allerman has held many positions throughout the years including jailer, patrol deputy, sergeant, SWAT member, agency instructor, and court security.
(Milwaukee) Day three at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee saw large groups of attendees visiting Convention Fest. Event attendees were able to walk through a pop up exhibit of presidential and Republic Party history complete with historic artifacts, documents, and a scale mock-up of the Oval Office.
