News – January 25, 2025

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is highlighting its work with the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and some of the arrests that resulted from that partnership in 2024. Last year the three detectives working on those investigations received 19 Cybertips provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Out of those tips the level of investigation rose to the point where seven residential search warrants were executed throughout the county. 

(Columbus) The Columbus Public Library recently announced they had received a $5,000 dollar grant for digital literacy workshops, courtesy of the Public Library Association (PLA) and AT and T. Classes will be on basic internet use, phones, internet safety, and much more.

(West Bend) Moraine Park Technical College will host a Health and Wellness lecture series every Thursday in February from 6 to 7:30 pm. The events are free and will be held at the College’s West Bend Campus. The series, titled And a Healthy New Year, will showcase Moraine Park’s Health and Wellness experts, along with partners from Aurora, Froedtert and Elevate. Each week will focus on a different topic to provide members with informative and educational tools to improve their lives.

(Fox Lake) A local organization was the recent recipient of a grant from the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation. The Friends of Clausen Park in Fox Lake was given a $1,500 grant. The money will be utilized to enhance the playground at the park, transforming it into an accessible facility for children to enjoy. 

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Library recently announced a new addition to its digital resources. Comics Plus kits are available to all Beaver Dam Community Library card holders. The free app provides access to thousands of digital comics, manga, picture books, and easy readers for juvenile audiences with no borrowing limits or wait times. (Columbus) To benefit the Columbus/Fall River Food Pantry, Culver’s restaurant in Columbus will be having a food drive on Monday February 3 from 5pm to 8pm. It is sponsored by the Zion Church and School. There will also be bins for non-perishable food donations as well. Culver’s is located at 201 Dix Street in Columbus.
