(Fond du Lac) The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has issued a follow-up release on its investigation to an accident that occurred on Sunday that left one woman dead and four injured. The 19-year-old operator from Hartford was declared deceased at the scene, with two of the passengers sustaining serious non-life threatening injuries, one passenger suffering critical injuries, and one passenger suffering minor injuries. More information will be made public as law enforcement continues to investigate these related crashes.
(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind folks about mental health during the holiday season. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says it gets difficult for people because of tragedy and relationship issues and can lead to drug dependency. He adds there are plenty of mental health resources available including Dodge County Human Services, Alarus Clinic in Beaver Dam, and counseling services.
(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Theater will be celebrating 60 years in 2024 and will be having a Vegas Night Fundraiser to celebrate. Managing Director David Alan Smith says there will be casino and card games to participate in and people can use their poker chips to bid on and possibly win prize baskets from various area businesses. (Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recently announced that Buckhorn State Park has been selected to receive an outdoor wheelchair through a grant from the Ford Bronco Wild Fund and administered by the National Association of State Park Directors. The outdoor wheelchair joins the fleet of adaptive equipment at the park which includes cross-country sit skis, an adaptive kayak, and a beach wheelchair. The DNR says this would not have been possible without their partnerships with the National Association of State Park Directors and Friend Groups throughout the state. (Beaver Dam) Officer Kevin Hall has been a part of the Beaver Dam Police Department for over 17 years and was partnered with his K9 Yeti in 2016. Hall says he and Yeti train once or twice a month with officers and canine handlers from Dodge County and the surrounding areas. He adds that he and the other handlers get to brainstorm and troubleshoot different scenarios they may have experienced or heard about and improve them during the training.
