News – December 7, 2023

(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is reminding citizens to drive safely on the roads during this winter weather season. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says that each highway is put into separate classes and plowed differently. Class I (one) highways are plowed 24-hours while class II (two) highways are plowed between 3am and 10pm. He adds that when driving on these highways, you need to slow down and avoid ditches. If someone does wind up in the ditch, the sheriff notes that person is likely to get a citation. 

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Theater One Voice Children’s Choir concert is on Sunday December 10 at 2pm in the Kamps Auditorium at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theater. Tickets are $10 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children 12 years old and under. A link to purchase tickets online will be available within this story at DailyDodge.com. They can also be purchased in person at the theater’s box office today from 10am to 4pm.   

(Mayville) The city of Mayville has applied for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program to address deficiencies in its public drinking water system. The project includes replacing the water mains on Alley Street and reroute water mains on Highway V. The DNR has determined that the project will not result in significant adverse environmental effects, though based on public comments received by the December 19th deadline, the state may prepare an environmental analysis before proceeding with the funding process.  

(Beaver Dam) There are still spots available to sign up for the Red Kettle bell-ringing campaign to benefit the Salvation Army. Coordinator Rhonda Steiner says most of the open slots fall on December 22nd and 23rd with additional slots on Fridays and Saturdays from now until the 23rd. She adds that people can sign up by either giving her a call or going to

(Columbus) The office of the Department of Public Works for the City of Columbus has been relocated from City Hall to the DPW facility. That building is located at 229 East School Street. This change, along with new office hours which are 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, took effect yesterday. The phone number will not change, so residents can still call the office at 920-623-5908.
