(Lomira) A Fond du Lac man was shot in the abdomen during an altercation at the wayside near Lomira yesterday evening. Just after 7pm, the Dodge County Sheriffโ€™s Office received a report of a shooting that occurred at the northbound rest stop at N10048 along Interstate 41. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says a 22-year-old Kaukauna man shot the 28-year-old from Fond du Lac during a confrontation. The individual was transported to a hospital in Neenah with non-life threatening injuries. The case is still under investigation.

 

(Friendship) A teenager was arrested for fleeing authorities in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. At 2:45am Sunday, a Fond du Lac County sheriffโ€™s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on I-41 in the town of Friendship for a speed violation. An eight-and-half mile pursuit followed, reaching speeds of 128-miles-per-hour. The vehicle was eventually stopped with a tire deflation device where a 17-year-old female from Oneida was taken into custody. The driver was charged with felony Eluding, among other charges.

 

(Beaver Dam) A holiday event that feeds Dodge County families in need is back for another year. The Beaver Dam Elks Club is holding its 68th Annual Christmas Basket Program tomorrow (Tuesday). Elks members are setting up shop at Summit Ford Beaver Dam, off North Spring Street, packaging food products. During a recent appearance on WBEVโ€™s Community Comment program, Radig said the group needs volunteers to help distribute the food. He says the program typically serves 500 families and 2,500 individuals each year. Each box is filled with a variety of holiday meal essentials. Radig says all the deliveries should be made by late-morning and invites anyone who helps to join the Elks for lunch at the Beaver Dam American Legion Veterans Center.

 

(Wisconsin) 62 agencies across Wisconsin are receiving over five-point-one million dollars in federal and state funds to enhance their transportation options for seniors and people with disabilities. ย The funding will help purchase 45 vehicles, 40 that are replacing existing vehicles that have reached their end of their service life.

 

(Madison) The state government saw less revenue collected in November when compared to the same month last year. ย The Department of Revenue says the one-point-two-five-five billion dollars plus is down over seven-percent due to a 25-percent drop in individual income taxes. ย So far through fiscal year 2020 the state has collected two-point-seven percent more than in fiscal year 2019.

 

(Madison) A new bill introduced in Madison will make it a crime to unlawfully summon a law enforcement officer. ย The “BBQ Becky Bill”, introduced by State Representative LaKeshia Myers, would make it a Class C misdemeanor if an officer arrives for a call that isn’t for a suspected criminal activity or threat to life or property.

 

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam residents are being reminded because of the Christmas Holiday, garbage and recyclable collections will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Wednesdayโ€™s Christmas route will be collected on Thursday, and so on, with Fridayโ€™s route being collected on Saturday. In addition, the Department of Public Works Garage will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
