(Beaver Dam) Two new water features were installed at the splash pad at Beaver Dam’s Swan Park. The features are provided by Waterplay, a leading splash pad and water park equipment manufacturer based in Canada. Officials with Waterplay say the Beaver Dam splash pad is a USA test pad location, which allows them to swap out different features and conduct extensive research on product designs. The two new features are a tide pool designed to replicate a sand shell and a ground spray.

(Waupun) Dodge County Public Health has donated an automated CPR device to SSM Health’s Waupun Memorial Hospital. The battery-powered device, a LUCAS 3, performs automated chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The LUCAS 3 chest compression system provides additional benefits to cardiac arrest patients by delivering guideline-consistent, high-quality chest compressions even under difficult conditions and for extended periods of time.

(Juneau) Officials with the Dodge County Public Health Department are encouraging the public the take part in a blood drive tomorrow (Wednesday). Donors who give in the month of August are eligible for a $20 Amazon gift card. The drive is taking place at the Human Services and Health Department located at 199 County Road DF in Juneau. It starts at 10am and goes until 3pm.

(Beaver Dam) Local law enforcement is reminding drivers to keep kids safe as they head back to school. Beaver Dam Police Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson says motorists need to pay attention to the flashing red lights and stop signs on school buses. If the stop sign is out and the lights are flashing, drivers need to stop 20-feet in front of or behind the bus. A citation for failure to stop costs $326.

(Beaver Dam) Area law enforcement will be participating in a special fundraising event happening at local eateries in Beaver Dam and Waupun. The Cops at Culver’s event is part of the Police Lights of Christmas fundraising efforts. A percentage of the sales and 100-percent of the tips go towards the Lights of Christmas program. The money will be used to buy gift cards for those in the community, allowing officers to meet a need when they see a need. Times are from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm.

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam’s Art on the Town Wisconsin is hosting its first Kids Art Gallery Night this week. The event is dedicated to showcasing the creative works of local young artists and aims to provide them with an opportunity to take pride in their work, share their creative journey, and receive recognition. Those aged four to 17 who made art at Art on the Town over the summer will be able to showcase their work. The event is taking place Thursday (August 15th) from 5pm to 7pm at Art on the Town’s studio located at 127 Front Street in Beaver Dam.
