(Beaver Dam) An alderperson on the Beaver Dam Common Council has announced they are stepping down from the post. During their regular meeting on Monday, a resignation letter from Ward 1 Alderman David Hansen was read to the full council body. The common council will be holding discussions at future meetings to determine the best course of action moving forward. Hansenโs current term expires next April.
(Columbus) The Columbus City Council held off voting on an ordinance change at a recent meeting. It was meant to address a new order of business for the council and a citizenโs right to speak. The change that was supposed to appear in the packet involved topic items for regular council meetings, but off topic items could be discussed in the committee of the whole. After further discussion, a motion was made and passed to send the ordinance to the next regular council meeting on April 16th for further discussion. โฏโฏโฏโฏ

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriffโs Office has been highlighting their employees and the work that they do by posting on their app, website, and Facebook. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he approached his social media manager Summer Zuelke about the idea, who had been doing it for about a year. Last month, the department highlighted Correctional Officer Melissa Watkins who has been in the business for 24 years. (Cambria) A local restaurant has been named as a finalist for the Wisconsin Beef Councilโs โBest Burger Contest.โ The Dump in Cambria has made the organizations โelite eightโ in their inaugural contest which was designed to seek out and promote 100-percent beef burgers prepared in Wisconsin restaurants. The โelite eightโ establishments will be visited by a secrete panel of judges who will travel to each business and evaluate the burgers. The winning restaurant will be announced on May 1st, which kicks off May Beef Month.
