(Calamus) The motorcyclist seriously injured after a crash in the town of Calamus has succumbed to their injuries. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the operator of the motorcycle as Thomas Davis. The accident occurred on Owl Road around 1:16am on April 14th. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
(Theresa) The Theresa Fire Department along with seven other agencies battled a blaze at a business in the village early yesterday (Tuesday) morning. The department was dispatched to Confections for Any Occasion on 101 South Milwaukee Street around 12:29am. Theresa’s first arriving engine crew made entry into the structure and conducted an offensive attack, bringing the fire under control at approximately 12:42am. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
(Beaver Dam) The city of Beaver Dam has released a public transit survey. The survey is in connection with a feasibility study that will help inform city leaders of potential changes to the transit options. It also supports the Community Action Plan effort, which is driven by community member volunteers to develop recommendations for improving Beaver Dam.
(Columbus) The Columbus City Council adopted a new ordinance at a recent meeting. It addresses new order of business for the council and a citizen’s right to speak. Alderwoman Trina Reid says the ordinance still is not what they discussed because while one sentence was corrected, another is still “mushed” together. Alderman Michael Lawson says removing the words “off topic” does not make sense because there is no clear action that can be taken if an item is off topic. After some further dialogue, the ordinance was adopted as is.
(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Orchestra is putting on their annual Spring Concert on April 27 at 7pm. The free concert taking place at the Beaver Dam High School Auditorium is a celebration of the orchestra’s 70th anniversary. The concert will feature music pieces spanning multiple generations.
