(Dodge County) There is elevated fire danger across Wisconsin including in Dodge County. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wis-Burn site, Dodge County has โ€˜very highโ€™ fire danger along with Washington, Columbia, and Jefferson counties. The conditions have contributed to 63 wildfires burning approximately 135 acres over the weekend.

(Horicon) Horicon police have identified two suspects and are working toward identifying a third in a series of vehicle entries last week. Authorities say several valuable items were taken from unlocked vehicles. The entries occurred during the early morning hours last Wednesday through Friday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department. 

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriffโ€™s Office is taking part in a national effort to recognize its dispatchers. The National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is observed during the second full week in April to acknowledge the work of communications officers. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says this week they honor the thousands of men and woman who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the worldโ€™s citizens.ย ย 

(Beaver Dam) United Way of Dodge County has announced its new CEO. Long-time Dodge County citizen Charlotte Schwark has filled the position. Schwark joins the non-profit from Reading Corps at Dodgeland Elementary, where she served as program manager. A welcome event will be planned after an initial positioning assessment of financials, opportunities, and needs. 

(Beaver Dam) The city of Beaver Dam is getting grant funds from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. In total, 19 organizations will receive a share of nearly $3.2-million-dollars in Small Business Development Grants. Beaver Dam is in line for $50-thousand-dollars which will be used to expand its existing Downtown New Business Recruitment Grant. The program provides $5,000 to brick-and-mortar businesses in the city for lease and mortgage payments, operating expenses, as well as building repairs and improvements.
