(Juneau) Dodge County’s new district attorney was sworn in Thursday. Andrea Will was tapped by the governor to replace Kurt Klomberg who resigned in January. She served as an assistant district attorney in the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office since 2008 and has prosecuted a variety of cases ranging from traffic violations to violent felonies.
During yesterday’s ceremony, Will called those who work at the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office “amazing.”
“They kept this office running and they did not miss a beat,” says Will. “I think the first day that I visited I said, ‘I’m not really going to change anything…we’re going to go status quo’ and then I think within two days of being there I said, ‘we’re going to change this…we’re going to change this…we’re going to change this’ and [the staff] keeps going with it. They continue to be a strong, amazing office.”
One of Will’s first tasks as DA was to hire additional staff as the office saw a number of resignations over the last few months . She recently announced that four assistant district attorney’s including Margaret Kunisch, Kevin Osborne, Shawn Woller, and Chad Wozniak will be joining the office. Will says each one brings with them decades of experience.
“And I’m just so proud to have them as my attorneys,” says Will. “I can’t think of any other mid-sized office in the state of Wisconsin that has so much experience and I think that really is going to serve Dodge County very, very well.”
A managing attorney has also been hired with a tentative start date in July. Will notes that a veteran Dodge County assistant DA did stay on board when she started her new role.
