(BEAVER DAM) Beaver Dam’s new city administrator starts work Tuesday. The Common Council hired Larry Bierke on Aug 18. He replaces Nathan Thiel, who resigned in May. Thiel has since taken a job as Dodge County Finance Director.
Bierke comes to Beaver Dam after serving as Iowa County Administrator in southwest Wisconsin. Mayor Bobbi Marck told Daily Dodge that Bierke has the kind of track record Beaver Dam was seeking.
“He had pretty extensive experience, just as an administrator in general, but also he had some big successes with downtown revitalization and economic development,” said Marck.
Marck says Bierke also has city planning experience that Beaver Dam could use. In addition to Iowa County, Bierke has held administrative positions in Platteville, Mount Horeb, and Hillsboro.
