Beaver Dam’s McKenna Nelson fired a 3-over-par 74 in Tuesday’s second round of the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina, earning a spot in the championship’s match play bracket.

Starting on the back nine, the Beaver Dam High School senior-to-be carded rounds of 38 and 37 for her 74. She birdied Nos. 14 and 15 while making bogeys on Nos. 11, 13, 16, and 17 on her opening nine. After the turn, Nelson added another birdie on No. 6 and bogeys on Nos. 5 and 8.
