National Night Out Returns Tuesday Night To Beaver Dam’s Swan Park

(Beaver Dam) National Night Out is set to return to Beaver Dam’s Swan Park Tuesday night. The community-building event focuses on crime prevention and awareness and enhances the relationship between the community and law enforcement. Beaver Dam Police Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson says there will be plenty to do and see throughout the evening.

“We will be there…the [Beaver Dam Police Department] will have several officers and our special teams will probably have some special equipment from our emergency response team…we’ll have our drone crew there…Project Lifesaver,” says Johnson. “We’ll have a squad cars there…if kids want to come in and see what it is like to sit inside of squad car and turn on the lights and sirens they can do that…ask us any questions they want…interact with us…we’ll have the fire department there.”

Johnson says other local agencies that play a key role in the community will be on hand for National Night Out.

“PAVE comes down…we have Dodge County Human Services…probation and parole even does something,” says Johnson. “We’ll have a DJ with live music…there’ll be free ice cream….there’ll be plenty of swag that you can pick up from all these different organizations…all kinds of fun stuff.”

Beaver Dam’s National Night Out will take place from 5pm to 8pm. Reeseville’s National Night Out at the Community Center is also being held from 5pm to 8pm. Fox Lake’s event, at the city’s pool, is taking place from 4pm to 8pm. Mayville’s National Night Out at the TAG Center runs from 5pm to 8pm.
